Community Shines Brightly at Illumination 2024

On the evening of Friday, November 8, we held our first ever annual celebration event for Hope Served… Illumination 2024! We had 155 people registered and almost everyone made it. We were overjoyed by the turnout and the enthusiasm. If you joined us, thank you!

We are trying to build a movement of people who care about the inclusion of individuals with disability in mainstream settings: workplaces, churches, housing, social activities, etc. This was an opportunity to celebrate this work and draw more people into the movement! We are extremely grateful for all our sponsors, guests, auction donors, food donors and volunteers for helping us do so. Special thanks to those of you who brought friends to introduce them to our work.

We netted over $8,500 from the event, which is pretty great for a first time event, and something to build on for next year. We’re especially grateful to Chef Charlie Gipe and his team of volunteers who wowed us with hot, cold, and dessert buffets.
