Coffee, Greeting Card Initiatives Gaining Steam
A core vision at Hope Served is to walk alongside folks who may be marginalized from the workforce or other aspects of society. Our Discovery Center is intended to be a microenterprise incubator where folks can develop job skills, explore interests and hobbies, and even gain employment as some initiatives become income producing.
Our first two microenterprises are: Hope Served Coffee and Hope Served Greeting Cards. Hope Served Coffee is led by a volunteer team of Rebecca Strite, Ida Blevins, Cal Clark, Ed Keyser, and Rich Pavlik. Our team is roasting and selling high-end specialty coffee online (store.hopeserved.org) and at community events. Are you a coffee lover? Check out our various blends and let us know what you think!
Hope Served Greeting Cards is led by a volunteer team of Janice Garber, Lorin Spangler, Cheri Long, and Kelly Harnish. They lead sessions in making beautiful, hand crafted greeting cards, made with and by individuals with disabilities. They also can come to your church or workplace and host a card making social event.
For more information, to get involved, or connect about coffee sales or a card making event, contact Karen Courtright, Community Connections Coordinator, at karen@hopeserved.org or (717) 347-9785.
Hope Served comes alongside individuals with disabilities and their local communities to develop creative opportunities for authentic participation in all aspects of life.
